How to Make Money with your YouTube Account in 4 Easy Steps.

How to Make Money with your YouTube Account in 4 Easy Steps.

A lot of people have discovered innovative ways to make money on the Internet. But it doesn’t mean that you can’t be a part of the one highly-popular method of generating income from the Internet. Your YouTube channel. Whether you are hosting a video blog, promoting products you sell on a website or trying to get your creative work some much-needed attention from internet users, monetizing a YouTube channel is an excellent way to create a strong cash flow, if you do it right. As I have found, there are quite a number of ways to earn money from a YouTube channel: let’s take a look at a few.

1.The YouTube Partner Program

A highly-effective way to monetize your YouTube channel is to participate in the YouTube Partner Program. This program gives contributors a chance to earn money while building and broadening an audience, and increasing their skills. In order to be eligible and maintain good standing with the YouTube Partner Program, some strict guidelines must be followed. Some of it include having up to 10,000 subscribers, so this means that you actually have to have been building your subscriber base with content that’ll attract your target audience. But this is what I say; it’s never too late to start, if you haven’t been taking your YouTube seriously and you’d like to make some cool cash from it, now’s the time to start uploading those videos. Remember, as long as the rules are abided by, the YouTube Partner Program can be an excellent opportunity for you.

One of the guidelines for the YouTube Partner Program is to ensure that your content is not sexually explicit, profanity-laden or violent. Other rules include agreeing not to click on ads on your own YouTube channel. The amount of money you earn from the program largely depends on how many views you receive. But it doesn’t end with partner programs.

2.Promoting Your Business or Product

If you have a side business you’re already running, say for example you sell Fashion items; shoes, hair, wristwatches or even makeup. YouTube can also be used to effectively promote your business or products to an expansive audience. Away from personal businesses, many companies use YouTube to build an audience and promote their products and services. This is because on YouTube, you can create a vibrant, informational video for your targeted online audience with all the pertinent information, and include a link to your website or blog. By doing this, you are directing your audience to your website, where they can purchase your merchandise and learn more about your services. This in turn increases your potential and growth.
Additionally, if your website or blog is monetized through a service such as AdSense (this will be fully addressed below), each visitor who is directed to your site from your YouTube channel will earn you money. By doing this, you are making your YouTube channel work for you, instead of vice versa. For optimal results, you want to make sure that you select a unique title for your video, so that it will be among one of the first hits in search engine queries.

3.Gaining popularity for growth and sales

Even if you decide to opt out of YouTube's Partner Program (and do not have a monetized blog or website), by simply diverting viewers to your website, you are helping to increase your own gaining potential, as brands who want to communicate with your target audience(which is essentially your subscriber base) will reach out to you for partnerships and sometimes sponsorships of your videos.

YouTube is highly-effective at expanding brand popularity and growth whether it be promoting your content, a company website, a music video for an unsigned individual, a blog for a wedding coordinator or any other website. With YouTube being one of the most prominent and popular websites on the Internet, it is easy to see why many people are drawn to the website and try to promote their businesses, blogs and other content there.

4.The Bottom Line

YouTube is one of many social networking sites that you can monetize. You can share videos, build channels, follow others and even promote your own businesses or interests. YouTube offers its members the opportunity to build a strong network of followers and potentially cement their place in the online business world. Communicate with your followers, consider the constructive feedback in the comment section and present a positive online presence.

Now that you know what you can do with your YouTube, Let’s walk you through how to do actually get started.

Monetizing your YouTube channel is easy. There are however a few things you need to understand like how the program works and how to set-up your account to begin earning revenue from your YouTube videos.

1.Understanding How YouTube Monetization Works

YouTube places ads inside or near videos. After you’ve enabled monetization on your YouTube channel, your videos can be submitted and approved for monetization. In order to earn the revenue that is generated from these ads, you will need to associate an AdSense account with your YouTube account.

For a video to be eligible, you must own worldwide commercial rights to everything in the video. For example, a video that features a song that you do not own the copyright for (e.g. a song you purchased on iTunes) would not be eligible. For more information about copyright and fair use, visit YouTube’s Copyright Center. In addition to complying with YouTube’s copyright policies, videos must abide by YouTube’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

The two key factors for earnings are the type of ads and the pricing of the ads appearing with your videos. Pre-roll ads, which lead into the beginning of a video, make more money per 1 thousand views than less obtrusive banners. You will make money per ad click and a smaller amount per view.

2.How Ads Are Displayed

Ads that are displayed with your videos are determined automatically based on a number of factors, including how you categorize your video and video Meta data. Make sure that video titles, tags and descriptions are SEO friendly for best results. You can read up on SEO here. It is important to note that you cannot control all of the ads that may appear on your channel. However, you are able to block ads by general categories and exclude sensitive categories via your AdSense account.

3.Getting Started: Step-By-Step

To begin, log-in to your YouTube channel account.

In the Channel Settings tab, select “Enable monetization.”

Follow the steps to accept the YouTube monetization agreement.

In the Uploads tab, you will see a green box with a dollar sign next to the videos that are immediately eligible for monetization. Videos that are not eligible to be monetized due to copyright (remember, we talked about this in point 1 above) will appear under the Copyright Notices tab.

4.Getting and Linking an Adsense account.

Next, you’ll need to associate an AdSense account to your YouTube channel. It is free to set up a new AdSense account. You will need either a PayPal or you can just use your normal bank account and a valid mailing address in order to have your account verified. AdSense will update you by mail once your account has been approved. You can also associate an existing, approved AdSense account to your channel. For instructions on how to associate your YouTube and AdSense accounts, visit the Google support pages here and here.

On the whole, taking time, money and other resources to build your YouTube can never go to waste, because as you now know, there multiple ways to getting some Google money. All you need do is actually acknowledge it as a real business because that’s what it is, don’t be too eager to earn, build consistently with time, great content and proper targeting, and when you least expect, you’ll be watching your YouTube make you some money.
